where have we been?

so I went to Alaska! and shipped the kids off to Canada with Daddy…

I met Smoky the Bear…

  and went kayaking with Marissa  (Mom & Dad went too when they got in town!)

 

and hiked Flattop with Rissa 

   

Mom and Dad met a moose, and Sarah Palin…

  

ok, so not an actual moose, but they all seemed to be hiding, but Sarah looks pretty real right?!

I saw lots of beautiful mountains, enormous glaciers, Alaskan wildlife…

(one black bear ran into the water and started playing with a stick and rolling around, he knew he had an audience.)

I learned all about the lovely fireweed that covers the roadsides, ice worms, highway patrol,

oh and all about Christina’s new in-laws!

dinner for a dollar…

and that’s why we coupon folks!

who doesn’t want yummy pizza, breadsticks, and bubble juice for dinner?

and it only cost a dollar.

rewind…

let’s step back a bit…

so in July we did lots of fun things, but didn’t get around to posting them!

a little worm investigation at the library, Luke was totally enthralled.

he likes bugs more and more and can’t get enough of squirmy wormies!

  

we ventured to the lake and fed the ducks a few times, and will probably go again tonight!

we also spend a lot of days at a park, visiting different ones all around town…

  

 

then we had a little hot dog roast, which Uncle Dustin and Uncle Aaron joined in on the fun

 

complete with ice rings, and marshmallow sticky hands, and swinging with the Uncles,

 

and Nat chasing after some random guy with total determination to catch him even though she is afraid of all strangers and most people she actually knows! Quite shocking!

 

we also visited the Purity Dairy Plant with our awesome friends… Moooo! The video they showed was from when I was a kid and the plant wasn’t making any butter at the time, but the ice cream samples were delicious!

 

Christina and Scott came to town and we took them to the zoo.  They did lots of other fun things like have an open house to celebrate their wedding! It was beautiful, thanks to the decorating efforts of the awesome Susie and Berta (have I ever mentioned how I want to grow up to be just like Susie?!)

what else happened in July? oh yeah, we put an offer on a house and they accepted it… but that will have to be my next post!
