let’s see, where did I leave off?…

So we headed to Canada Monday. The kids were so excited to get to Grandpa and Grandma’s house. They couldn’t get enough of jumping on the trampoline and riding the four wheeler around and around the driveway. Grandpa even took Luke fishing and they caught a fish! Natalie was having so much fun, she put herself to bed a few times!

Then they just couldn’t get enough of playing with cousins! Day after day, more and more family coming, it was one big party!

Thursday night, we picked up Darin and headed to Dustin and Jessica’s. A crazy hailstorm came through destroyed most of Cardston. It totaled all of Mom and Dad’s cars and the fifth wheel and wrecked the roof. It was crazy to see how much damage occurred. Hailstorms in July, what?!

Not every day do you see this on the road…

It took a little warming up, but then Ivy was my buddy the rest of the trip. If she couldn’t find her momma, I was the next best thing. Luke and Drew were inseparable.

That weekend was the Payne Family Reunion at Badger Valley lodge. It was great to met and spend time with so much family. I met a few people for the first time and the kids just enjoyed all the fun to be had. We played games, hiked up the hillside, ate lots of good food, made tons of crafts, and had a blast just talking and catching up.

Sunday the Girls’ trip began! We headed up to Calgary for restful sleep at the Marriott, good food, lots of shopping, and great company. I had a blast. I spent way too much but found some cute things, and I loved watching how much Jessica enjoys her food! We wanted to celebrate Mom’s birthday in a big way but it was just as wonderful for all of us.

The boys survived with all the kids, but were happy to head to Waterton the next day for the Payne Golf Tournament! This year Jeff came out on top!! Maybe next year Darin! The kids enjoyed playing at the lake, at the playground and riding around on the double bike carts.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday was a mix of the family service project and activities. We had planned to do some awesome tree trimming and cleaning in the yard, but after that crazy storm we did a bit more. Everyone pitched in helping with different jobs, and it looked so much better. I was amazed at how much was accomplished: took out three trees, cut down tons of branches, underbrush, overgrowth, and HAULed it ALL away (I was worried we would be leaving a bigger mess!). We played 007 one night, we headed into Lethbridge for some bowling and dinner at Costco the next, and ended with an adults’ only dinner Friday night!

Evans and Peos headed home on Saturday, but we got to stay the weekend (thanks to Volkswagen, waiting on documentation to import the Jetta), which was a blessing in disguise because extra time with Grandpa and Grandma is always more memorable in the long run!

We had so much fun, but we were pretty wore out. Oh wait, then there was the three day drive home!
